Your shoot

From “maybe I could do this” to “Oh my god, that’s me!” Here’s how the whole process flows, so you know exactly what to expect

Discovery call

We’ll start with a discovery call where we can find out all about your goals, and explain how it all works on our side. It’s a good chance to see if this feels like the right fit.

We’ll chat about the vibe you want, how you want to feel, outfit ideas, location options, and anything else that’ll help us make this shoot your shoot.

Book and pay for your session

Once your session is booked and paid for, the countdown begins! We’ll check in regularly with you to make sure your preparations are going smoothly.

Hair & makeup

We’ll meet at the chosen spot, have a quick catch-up and go over the shoot plan. If you’ve booked hair and makeup, our stylist will be there to work their magic.

Shoot time

Let the magic begin! I’ll guide you through the poses and make sure we stick to the shoot plan and get all your outfit changes done.

Oh, and there will be snacks... if we’re not having too much fun taking photos we could even have them ;)

In-personal photo reveal

We’ll meet again to go through your edited gallery together. You’ll pick the images you love, and if you fancy prints or albums, we’ll sort those too.

Prep makes perfect

What makes a boudoir shoot exceptional? It’s not just the lighting or the lingerie, it’s the planning. So we’re going to do a bit of homework before the big day (don’t worry, it’s the fun kind). During your pre-shoot consultation, we’ll chat about:

  • What you want out of the experience (empowered goddess? Low-key hottie? Both?)
  • The vibe you want your photos to give off
  • Where we’ll shoot
  • What you’ll wear (yes, we can help)
  • What the whole process will feel like on the day

Shoot locations

You’ve got a few great options when it comes to location:

  1. A hotel in London - your choice or ours. Our city is packed with gorgeous rooms you can rent during the day, from dark and moody to bright and airy.
  2. A natural-light lifestyle studio. Perfect if you want something more stylised and characterful.
  3. Last but not least: your place. The ultimate “as you are” shoot is often the most personal and relaxed option. You could be surprised at how photogenic your home is too!

Your boudoir style

Think of this like choosing your shoot’s personality. Cozy and casual? Playful and cheeky? Sexy siren? Each one calls for different outfits, settings, and energy. We’ll talk through each vibe and land on what feels most like you.

We’ll set clear boundaries so everything feels safe and respectful, and the creativity can flourish.

What to wear

Outfits make a big difference, but don’t overthink it. We’ll help you choose things that make sense for your style and location. A few examples:

  • Cozy: Knitwear, oversized jumpers and thick wintry dressing gowns.
  • Playful: crop tops, mini dresses - something with personality.
  • Sensual/Sexy: lingerie, bodysuits, and don’t forget your heels!

Colour matters too. Some tones pop beautifully in natural light, others suit darker, moodier rooms. If you want input, we’ll happily play wardrobe stylist.

Photographs of Doug

Hi, I’m Doug

Photographer and founder of Reverie, where I shoot confidence-boosting boudoir sessions for women, men, and couples who want photos that feel real, powerful, and unapologetically them.

I live in the greener bits of south east London, and I’ve been shooting for over 30 years. When I’m not photographing boudoir sessions, I’m usually somewhere in Europe or Asia with a camera in hand, chasing street scenes or jaw-dropping landscapes. My other love is surfing, but not so much in the UK... I like my toes frostbite-free!
